Oakshott moves to Dubai - So What !

So the wet lettuces (howling left) are now trying to extract more piffle with comments like “But will she integrate with her new adopted country Dubai ? Learn the language, wear a Burka in public places & convert to Islam ?”

This is just sneering garbage. There are many thousands of British ex-pats living and working in Dubai and they don’t on the whole speak Arabic, wear a Burka (not a normal practice in Dubai even for the locals) and there is no requirement to convert to Islam. Is that just the tainting and characterisation pegging the left so frequency howl at anyone they don’t like ?

Like so many who move there it is partly the climate, being a lot warmer, but mostly I suspect, the lack of any real level of taxation. After all, the current world No 1 in snooker made no secret of his reason for basing himself out of there and that was tax. With tournament earnings in the past year of circa £1.3, he has saved between £600k and £700k in tax (I know that is headline and excludes his costs)

The much lauded and knighted Sir Lewis Hamilton moved to Monaco some years ago and with earnings of several hundred million has saved into 9 figures in tax. Does anyone mention that ?

The ex owner of Pimlico Plumbers has made something of moving to Spain and taking his £180m ish with him to avoid what he sees as punitive incoming wealth taxes and capital gains taxes that take no account of risk.

Frankly, anyone able to move abroad and having considerable assets should really think about it … there is no doubt in my mind that at some point in this parliament, Labour, having spent everything else, will do a Cyprus tax grab on wealth. But the yoof and early middle aged dreamers of today need to learn the lessons we did in the 70’s with the financial and economic collapse cause by labours mismanagement (and some of Heath to be fair) of the economy. With some tax rates at 90% and the top income tax rate at 83% (plus NI), there was little incentive to invest here and the obvious happened. It took 20 years to fix… so I am pretty sure I have lived in the best of times and it is downhill to the end for me.

The fact that Oakshott has moved countries is her businesses is her reasons. We have some very good and old friends one of whom is a rabid Corbynite. Did not stop them going to Saudi for a decade, paying zero tax anywhere and not even tax on the interest now they are enjoying all the UK free benefits. But as usual, the left seek ‘truth’ and miss by a country mile with their veracious sneering. Facts are optional as always whilst pompously banging on about truth. It is funny, but ‘fact checking’ has now been essentially dumped by Facebook in the face of what Trump might do. It demonstrates that it really was censorship after all. I mean, who can forget the ‘fact checkers’ pulling every post about Hunters dodgy laptop and banning all and sundry .. when it was all actually true eh.

There are already mutterings of ‘she does not live here .. should not comment .. yada yada yada’. Never see those same comments about the endless parade of plastic Scots living mostly in the USA banging on about the SNP and Indy thought … pots & kettles !

So long as she keeps writing a contrarian view to the endless left wing lies and misdirection’s, then great in my view. As for Dubai… too bloody hot in summer !
